Hello, my name is Jean Mayo, and I’m a qualified and Professional Counsellor. Since qualifying in 2016, I’ve been deeply passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including a hospice, primary and secondary schools, community agencies, and through Animal-Assisted Therapy and group interventions. I currently work as a Student Counsellor for an educational academy within Sandwell.

I have supported clients through a wide range of issues from anxiety, depression, and loss, to self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and disorders such as OCD. Life isn’t always about one single issue,  often, we are juggling multiple challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Counselling can help unpack these experiences, one step at a time, so you can better understand yourself and what you want from life. Personally, counselling has also been a vital part of my own journey, and I know how powerful it can be.

I believe in your capacity to grow, heal, and discover your inner strength. Together, we can explore your feelings, reflect on life’s challenges, and find clarity, hope, and resilience. No matter what you’re facing, you don’t have to navigate it alone. You deserve support, understanding, and a space to truly be yourself.

Most importantly, my work is about helping you feel seen, heard, and understood. If you’re ready to take the next step towards feeling lighter, understood and empowered, I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. Please feel free to reach out either online or by phone to see if I’m the right therapist for you.   I offer a 20 min free first contact.
